Hope for Brooke

I’d like to take a moment to express my gratitude. You see, because you graciously opened your heart and gave a gift to KC Pet Project in 2020, we were able to help more pets, reach new goals, and assist families during an unprecedented pandemic. Our highlights include:

  • Caring for more than 10,000 pets through adoption, fostering, and returning them to their homes.
  • Finding new homes for a record 7,748 pets.
  • Introducing our Keep ‘Em Together, KC program to keep pets and people together. Through this program, we distributed 2,300 pound of cat food and treats, 7,500 pounds of dog food and treats, and 45 doses of flea and tick prevention.
  • Launching our Animal Services Division on December 1. Our officers have already helped one out of every five found pets return to their homes, answered more than 300 calls per day through out new Pet Helpline and Dispatch Center, and provided 200 pounds of food and additional resources to our community.

Your generosity ensures we can continue to provide services that not only keep animals healthy, but protect them from becoming separated from their families. Please consider making a gift to KC Pet Project to support pets in need.

Again, thank you for your commitment to KC Pet Project. Because of you, countless animals throughout Kansas City will enjoy a happy, healthy life!

When Brooke, a 5-year-old Boston Terrier,
was found in a dog park late one night, she was in bad condition. She appeared to have been attacked by another animal. Her breathing was labored, lungs were bruised, and ribs were broken. Plus, she was in a lot of pain.

We brought Brooke back to our facility,
where we performed lifesaving surgery and
stabilized her with pain medication and
fluids. Our clinical veterinary team operated successfully on her rib fractures and provided the care she needed to recover. Since then,
Brooke has steadily improved. She has been in a loving home through her healing process and will soon be adopted.

Here at KC Pet Project, we see cases like this every day. Your support will enable us to continue to help and heal severely injured pets like Brooke!
