Local Animal Shelters Unite for KC Mega Match Pet Adoption Event
Largest Adoption Event in Kansas City’s History Aims to Find Homes for 1,000 Pets
Kansas City, MO — Animal welfare advocates are thrilled to announce that the annual KC Mega Match Adoption Event presented by national nonprofit organization Petco Love, with BOBS from Skechers™, will be held October 20-22. KC Mega Match is a lifesaving collaboration amongst Kansas City metro animal shelters, and this year, there is a record of eight participating organizations: Great Plains SPCA, Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, Kansas City, KS Animal Services, KC Pet Project, Lawrence Humane Society, Melissa’s Second Chances, Midwest Animal ResQ, and Wayside Waifs. Throughout the weekend of October 20-22 all pet adoptions at all locations are $25.
This year, the shared goal is to find homes for 1,000 animals during the event. All adoptable animals have undergone a spay/neuter surgery, are microchipped for identification, and are up to date on their vaccinations. Prospective adopters will be required to go through the application process.
