Shelter Staying Open Late for Huge Adoption Event – Continues to Experience Record High Intakes with up to 75 New Pets Daily
Kansas City, MO, June 24th, 2021 – It is going to be a Friday Night Frenzy at the KC Campus for Animal Care this Friday, June 25th from 4-8pm. KC Pet Project is staying open late to host their first-ever evening adoption special to help their pets get adopted to new families.
During the evening special, dogs that are 25 pounds or more will be $25 and adult cats will be $25 at the KC Campus for Animal Care only. The campus has hundreds of pets that qualify for this special, and you can see all of them at http://kcpetproject.org/adopt.
KC Pet Project is at capacity with record-breaking numbers of new pets arriving daily. Shelter officials are asking for everyone’s help to spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and coworkers to help them save lives.
“During the past four days, 233 new pets have come to our shelter, which are numbers that we’ve never experienced before,” said Tori Fugate, chief communications officer of KC Pet Project. “Our dog kennels are doubled down, cat kennels are all full, and we need adopters and foster homes now for the pets in our care. These numbers are truly unprecedented, and we are not even to the 4th of July yet, which is traditionally a very busy holiday for us with lost pets coming to our shelter. We encourage everyone to get involved and come help these pets that depend on us in Kansas City.”
KC Pet Project continues to post all of the lost and found pets that arrive at their shelter each day on their website and their Lost & Found Facebook Page with the hope to reunite these pets with their families. The organization recently announced their Reclaim Fee Forgiveness Program, which waives all of the intake fees for lost and found pets if they are reclaimed within the first 48 hours after arriving at the shelter.
Foster homes are also needed to help make space at the animal shelter for all incoming pets. If you can open your hearts and homes to a pet at KC Pet Project while they are looking for a new home, please fill out the organization’s sign up form to get started.
If you cannot adopt or foster, donations are critically needed to help with the care of the pets at KC Pet Project. To give a donation, please visit this link or to donate directly from the shelter’s AmazonSmile wish lists, click here.
