KC Pet Project Benefits Overview

Thank you for your interest in working at KC Pet Project. Below is an overview of the benefits that are offered to full-time employees of our organization.

2023 Benefits Overview

KC Pet Project recognizes seven company holidays including: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  Since we are a 7 day a week operation, you may be required to work on holidays and will be paid overtime for the hours worked.  We are closed to the public on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day only and will operate with a skeleton crew on those days.  We offer two floating holidays per year to offset the holidays worked.

HEALTH – WELLNESS – FINANCIAL

Here are some of the core benefits offered to Kansas City Pet Project employees.

Kansas City Pet Project pays towards health insurance premiums for all full-time employees. Employees can select from three health care plan options. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 60 days of employment.

Go365

Getting healthier is easier – and lots more fun – with Go365. When it comes to health and wellness, employees have their own approach, one that works for them and their family. Go365 makes it easy to get moving, more activities to unlock, and more ways to rack up rewards.

Employees can lower medical cost by 7% for achieving Silver status or 15% for reaching Gold or Platinum status.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA’s)

Kansas City Pet Project provides employees with an opportunity to participate in up to two different flexible spending accounts (FSAs) administered through Phillips Resource Network. FSAs allows employees to set aside a portion of their income, before taxes, to pay for qualified health care and/or dependent care expenses.

Kansas City Pet Project pays the full premium for group term life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) policy. The amount of the term life policy is $15,000. Employees have the option to purchase life insurance for their spouse and dependent children and supplemental life insurance for themselves.

Disability Insurance

Disability insurance provides benefits that replace part of an employee’s lost income when they become unable to work due to a covered injury or illness.

Voluntary Benefits

Employees can enroll in these plans during Open Enrollment—they’re completely voluntary, which means an employee is responsible for paying for coverage at an affordable rate.
