Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon in Westport as we host our very first Bark Crawl on Saturday, May 10th from 2-6 PM! This brand-new event is your chance to explore some of the best local bars while supporting the thousands of dogs that will come through KC Pet Project in 2025.
With a fantastic lineup of participating venues—including Atomic Provisions, Harpo’s, Harry’s, Kelly’s Westport Inn, Tin Roof, and Beer Kitchen—you’ll enjoy handcrafted drinks, delicious bites, and exclusive event-only specials, all while celebrating your love for dogs. The fun kicks off with check-in at Char Bar, where you’ll grab your event swag before setting out to visit these amazing Westport spots. The event wraps up with an exciting after-party at Tin Roof to keep the celebration going.
Whether you bring your pup along or just want to enjoy a fun-filled day with fellow dog lovers, this is an event you won’t want to miss. The KC Bark Crawl is a bar crawl through Historic Westport and will be a fundraiser to help support our canine operations. You may be familiar with our popular Caturday event, this was modeled after that event! All the money raised will support our life-saving work.
You may bring your dog if you would like, but only a few select bars will have dog-friendly spaces. We are discussing options with the bars now to give you the exact list, but currently we have 4 locations with dog-friendly spaces. Our check-in location and after-party location are both dog-friendly and are sure to be a great time. Whether you bring your dog or leave them at home, you will be helping us care for thousands of dogs this year!
Nope! We encourage you to come out to the event with or without your dog. You don’t even have to be a dog person to enjoy the KC Bark Crawl. (Cat people are welcome!) Even if you have never had a pet of your own, this event is a fun way to give back to the nearly 58,000 pets and people that KC Pet Project serves each year.
No. We will provide everyone with a map of all the participating locations along with info on the drink specials. You will check in at the Char Bar, but after that you get to decide where to go. Everyone will receive a bandana that we encourage you to wear so that you can easily spot the others who are participating in the event.
The event goes from 2pm to 6pm with an after party at Tin Roof for those who want to enjoy live music. But you are welcome to come even if you are only able to stay for a couple of hours! Just make sure you make it to the check-in location by 4pm to get your “Bark Bag” because the registration team will pack up at that time to enjoy the end of the event!
We recommend parking in the parking garage that is next to the Char Bar. The Char Bar will be where you check in to get your “Bark Bag.” If you don’t want to deal with the garage, you are welcome to find parking on the street.
The Bark Bag is a goodie bag that every registrant will receive. This will have your lanyard, bandana and some goodies from our sponsors. The map to the participating locations and the list of drink specials will be in there too!
