Volunteer Service Groups

Why Support KC Pet Project?

If your group is looking for a place to give back, KC Pet Project is the spot for you! We have several opportunities for volunteer service groups to support the ongoing needs of the shelter and our lifesaving programs. Group volunteer projects are great for team building, increasing morale, and getting involved with the community!

  • Group service projects are ideal for group sizes of five (5) or more.
  • KC Pet Project can accommodate groups as large as twenty (20) participants and coordinate full service days for groups larger than 20 people.
  • Group projects have a minimum commitment of two (2) hours, though more time is encouraged!
  • Your group can give service one time or, if you want to do more, we offer semi-regular and quarterly opportunities as well.

  • Volunteer Groups must meet the Essential Capabilities of Volunteers requirements for all roles
  • Volunteer Groups must bring any tools and/or supplies as assigned by project
  • Volunteer Groups must schedule their service project in advance with the Volunteer Department Team. Same-day group opportunities are not available at this time.

    • Leads must be 18 years of age or older and must have an active email address
    • Leads should submit a Volunteer Service Group application on behalf of the group
    • Leads must meet with the Volunteer Department Team to confirm their group’s service project and the project’s date and time. This meeting will cover important information and a brief training session to ensure the group’s success.
