2024 Statistics

Year in Review

• We took in 16,028 dogs, cats, and other pets in 2024. Intake for animals is still running 52% higher than what we saw in 2019.
• Adoptions are also still at the highest levels in our 12-year history – still up 54% from 6 years ago for this timeframe.
• Stray / lost pets brought in by the public are still at the highest level ever recorded in Kansas City–up 82% from 2019 totals.
• Pets surrendered by their Owners are 41% higher than 2019 totals for this period.
