What is a Martingale Collar?

• Martingale collars were originally designed for greyhounds. Their thick necks and narrow heads mean they can slip normal collars easily, which can result in many unsafe escapes. Martingale collars are made with an extra loop on the collar where the leash is attached. When a dog tries to pull or back out of their collar, the loop shortens temporarily so that the collar cinches under the dog's skull and they can't slip their collar. These collars help prevent many accidents, which is why KC Pet Project uses them for all of the dogs in our care!
