As COVID-19 reached Kansas City, the community responded to KC Pet Project’s emergency request for foster homes for the pets currently living in our shelter. And, the community DID RESPOND with more than 900 new applications submitted to foster a pet during the coronavirus crisis.
Now, KC Pet Project will expand its support for the community that has always supported us.
“Keep ‘Em Together, KC” will include a pet food and supply pantry at the new Kansas City Campus for Animal Care and partnerships with other assistance programs in Kansas City to more easily reach income insecure residents closer to their homes. In addition, a financial assistance fund will be established to help with fees, like pet rent, when a family is experiencing financial hardship and wants to keep their beloved pet.
All gifts are appreciated and impactful, but your gift of $250.00 or more through May 30, 2020, will be recognized as a Founding Member on this page.
KC Pet Project has been giving love and care to thousands of lost, abandoned, and often injured pets since 2012. For more than eight years, you have known KC Pet Project as a leader in progressive, lifesaving programs – helping Kansas City to become a No Kill community. We need your support now as we continue to help tens of thousands of animals in our community who need us and thousands of families that will need our help more than ever in the coming weeks to care for their own pets. With your help, we will expand our love and care to the homes of the community we serve so all families can “Keep ‘Em Together, KC.”
