Jackson & Michael + Walter

The first of ten cats we met, Walter arrived while we were at KC Pet Project, and it was meant to be. He is 14, has FIV, and is the sweetest cat we have ever had. We never expected to get an elderly cat with health issues, hence the meeting of several cats. He got to the Zona Rosa Adoption Center after we arrived and he was the first cat we requested to see. Immediately, we knew this was the one. Before we knew it, he was ours. Having had many cats and other pets before, Walter is hands down the best pet we’ve ever had. We cannot imagine life without him.”

The Whaleys + Vince

Vince (Van Gogh) was recommended to us after the loss of our 12 year old dog, Oliver. Our friend who volunteered at KC Pet Project knew Vince would be a good fit for our family. He’s a first class snuggler and lap dog. Gentle giant, stud muffin. He gives more kisses than you knew you wanted. Vince is a loyal, obedient, silly, and intelligent handsome boy. He’s a wonderful pet who has enriched our lives – and introduced our friends, our family, and ourselves to the idea of pit bulls as wonderful family dogs. He is our shadow who never leaves our side.”

Lindsey + Carl

We found Carl on KC Pet Project’s website and it was love at first click. He is a pit bull mix we’ve had for a little over a year. When we rescued him, we had no idea what we were getting into. But over the last year, we’ve watched Carl grow in strength, knowledge, and love. He is truly the silliest and sweetest dog I have ever known. All he wants is to snuggle, to eat, to play with his cat and to sleep. Carl changed my life for the better, and I couldn’t be more thankful for this organization and what they do for the people and animals in this city. We love KC Pet Project.”

Ashley + Buster

I met the love of my life five years ago at KC Pet Project and our life is one amazing adventure together. Ears far too big for his head. A grin that was just absolutely contagious. A tail wag that causes what I affectionately refer to as his ‘wiggle butt’. I knew adopting a dog would change my life, but I had no idea the extent to which my 70 pound ball of energy, affection and slobbery kisses would change everything. Through his unadulterated, unconditional love, he has shown me the truest form of love and taught me some of the most amazing lessons.
