Title: Education Internship

Reports to: Community Education Coordinator

Birthday Party at KCPP

Supervises: N/A 

Commitment: Weekend days and two afternoons a week. No more than 20 hours total weekly. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Leading and facilitating Youth Programs and on-campus Birthday Parties 
  • Set up and cleanup of events in Education Pavilion  
  • Keep inventory of all supplies needed for parties or Youth Programs 
  • Attend off-site Education events and job fairs with Education Coordinator 
  • Assist Education Coordinator in developing new programs 
  • Fill out in-kind donation forms for group donations 

Qualifications: 

  • Ability to use a laptop  
  • Some experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook helpful 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older 
  • Must be willing to work around animals. Some basic dog handling training may be required. 
  • Creativity and willingness to try new approaches and receive constructive feedback 
  • Self-starter who is able to work well independently 
  • Must be able to work in a crowded, busy environment if necessary 
  • Able to work with the KC Pet Project team 

The Birthday Party and Event Facilitator for KC Pet Project should be creative and excited about working with groups of children. They will be working at the Kansas City Campus for Animal Care. KC Pet Project is a nonprofit organization that operates the Kansas City, MO animal shelter, caring for more than 14,000 pets a year.
