Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer
Supervises: Canine Care, Behavior and Training, Admissions, Intake and Lifesaving Departments
The Director of Canine Operations is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the animal shelter to include, but not be limited to, Admissions, Intake, Canine Care, Training and Behavior and Lifesaving departments and staff. Ensures that constant and humane care and treatment of animals is provided, at all times, as it relates to industry best practices. Ensures the upkeep, cleanliness and security of the kennel and adoption facilities are held to KC Pet Project standards. Provides a quality customer service experience for external and internal customers in accordance with organization’s mission, goals and philosophy.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off, medical insurance and dental insurance.
KC Pet Project is a nonprofit organization that operates the Kansas City, MO animal shelter, caring for more than 10,000 pets a year. We are the largest No Kill shelter in Kansas City.
