WE ARE ANIMAL ARTISTS

If you are a past, present or future supporter of KC Pet Project, this is for you. Because you provide for us. You inspire us. And you give us hope for the future. In this season of giving, we just wanted to give back in the best way we knew how. So sit, stay and enjoy.

About the Artist: Carabina

Carabina came to KC Pet Project after she was found tied to a tree. She was abandoned, alone and had a large carabiner piercing her neck. Carabina was welcomed to KC Pet Project with open arms, and the carabiner was surgically removed by our veterinary staff. The sweet two-year-old pit bull mix finally found her forever home two weeks ago and now knows the love that we knew she deserved.

About the Artist: Austin

Austin was a homeless black Lab at KC Pet Project. Linda Weaver, a KC Pet Project volunteer, decided she wanted to foster another dog from the shelter and Austin was randomly selected to go home with her. All it took was for Linda to throw a ball into the swimming pool at her house to realize that Austin had a gift. Since then, Austin has become a real competitor. In November of 2014, he competed in the DockDog World Championship and placed 5th overall in Turbo Speed Retrieve!

About the Artist: Buddy

Buddy is a two-month-old shepherd mix who was surrendered by his former family after falling ill. Buddy had parvo. He was immediately transferred to our modest parvo isolation ward at the shelter where our dedicated staff worked to treat Buddy. After three weeks, Buddy was healthy enough to find his forever family from our Pet Adoption Center in Zona Rosa. And everyone lived happily ever after.

About the Artist: Cora

Cora is a two-year-old Chihuahua mix that was found by animal control after being hit by a car. Her pelvis was broken, and the injuries to her leg were so severe that it had to be removed. KC Pet Project was with Cora from injury to recovery. In fact, the KCPP staff member that fostered her became so attached to three-legged Cora that she knew she could never let her go and has since adopted this precious puppy painter savant.

About the Artist: Gilbert

Just a tiny kitten, Gilbert arrived at KC Pet Project, along with a litter of siblings, after his owner proved to be allergic to them. We immediately fell in love with Gilbert, who was much smaller than the rest of his family. Gilbert recently found his forever home when he was adopted by Kyle, who supports all of his kitten’s artistic endeavors.
