The participants of KC Mega Match-a-thon, the first-ever collaboration among three Greater Kansas City Area animal shelters: Heartland SPCA, KC Pet Project and Wayside Waifs, are proud to announce they have collaboratively adopted 706 animals this past weekend. This historical event in Kansas City was made possible by a grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), as part of the organization’s national Mega Match-A-Thon effort.
As a part of the promotion, all adoption fees were reduced to $25 which included spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations and permanent microchip identification. This joint partnership between Kansas City’s three largest shelters is the first of its kind. Each shelter was awarded a grant from the ASCPA.
